• Partnered with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP), and state departments of transportation (DOT) to develop a suite of industry-standard tools for transportation asset management, including NBIAS, HERS, and AssetManager
• Conducted successful asset management planning, system development, and evaluation projects for bridges, pavements, and interchanges in more than 40 states
• Leads the industry in promoting the use of performance measures to evaluate the effectiveness of asset management strategies and overall departmental performance
• Authored the Transportation Asset Management Guide adopted by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO); the guide gives an agency tools to conduct a self-assessment exercise, identify areas for improvement, and develop recommendations for improvement based on successful techniques
• Led the effort to define asset management for transportation as a specialty in conjunction with the NCHRP.
