Background

Cambridge Systematics, Inc., in cooperation with Lloyd’s Register (LR), are expanding the capabilities of Arivu, the next-generation risk-based asset management software platform to serve the transportation infrastructure market. Developed initially for the asset-intensive oil and gas industry, Arivu enables asset owners to simultaneously increase critical asset reliability and reduce overall inspection and life-cycle costs. Transportation agencies can now demonstrate a systematic consideration of risk in infrastructure investment decisions.  Furthermore, risk is a very compelling and intuitive basis for managing and communicating investment decisions to elected officials and the general public.

Arivu goes beyond probability-based deterioration models that are common in asset management systems, and delivers combined analyses of the probability and consequences associated with asset service interruptions.  The results are risk-based programs generated by the only proven transportation risk management system on the market.
