Freight Transportation Economist – Open Location (job code CVO000190)
We are seeking an experienced Economist with 3 plus years of experience to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and rapidly growing national team of planners, economists, and engineers recognized for innovative work in transportation planning, economics, and policy. If selected you will support and lead studies related to freight economics and economic development, transportation policy, financial analysis, and related areas. We are seeking Network/Systems Administrator who will be responsible for the design, management, and maintenance of CS' network infrastructure and telephony systems. The position focuses on the management of hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls; application layer protocols such as DNS and DHCP; WAN and Internet connectivity; and TCP/IP routing. The Network/Systems Administrator also oversees corporate telephony, including traditional and IP-based PBXs. Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science; solid object-oriented design and development skills; hands-on experience (via internships or work experience) delivering high-quality software in a production environment; and some practical experience in Microsoft .NET and/or Java/J2EE development. You must have excellent communication skills, be passionate about software, and have a skilled and pragmatic approach to programming. Transit Project Manager – Chicago, IL (job code TPM000196)
We are seeking a Project Manager with 7 or more years of experience in transit planning, project development, and related disciplines. The Project Manager will lead and/or work on a variety of transit consulting assignments that may include system- and corridor-level analysis, land use, economics, finance, performance evaluation, environmental assessment, and other related technical areas. We are seeking a Transportation Analyst responsible for providing engineering and analytical support to transportation clients focusing in the area of microsimulation modeling, transportation operations, and design. Responsibilities include analysis of likely impacts and benefits of proposed transportation investments; participation and oversight on a variety of transportation projects, including multimodal corridor studies, regional transportation modeling and traffic studies; design and implementation of data collection efforts using statistical analysis packages; evaluation of ITS deployments; implementation and use of simulation models (including Synchro, HCS, Traffix, Paramics, VISSIM, DYNASMART-P), calibration of large-scale transportation network, and geographical information system software (GIS); and preparation of technical reports and presentations.
Requirements: Master’s degree (or its foreign educational equivalent) in Industrial or Transportation/Civil Engineering and have had coursework or academic project experience with intelligent transportation system applications, transit operations and planning, ArcGIS, the four-step modeling process (using TranPlan and Cube), and traffic simulation modeling (including VISSIM, Paramics, and DYNASMART-P). Must also possess strong analytical and quantitative skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
